NAPS MISSION

Established in 1995, The National Association of Perishable Shippers (NAPS) mission is to work together collectively as perishable shippers within the current domestic and global delivery market to improve member understanding of carrier automation and delivery networks, implement best practice methods, and provide the best possible delivery solutions to our customers for their time-sensitive perishable packages.

ASSOCIATION PROFILE

The National Association of Perishable Shipper association meets twice a year to share concepts, received direct feedback from national and regional small parcel carriers and work collectively towards resolving common problems involved in shipping perishable products.

NAPS members use both national and regional carriers to provide delivery services. However, most perishable products are delivered through one of the four major small parcel delivery carriers: United Parcels Service, United States Postal Service, FedEx or DHL.

These major carriers attend NAPS conferences to provide delivery performance data summarized from combined NAPS member packages, present updates on new programs and improvements being made to existing programs. Lastly, they define opportunities to reduce costs and improve overall services experiences.

As an association made up of parcel shippers, the National Association of Perishable Shippers capitalizes on its right to represent its members on the United States Postal Service’s "Mailer's Technical Advisory Committee" (MTAC). Members’ benefit by having early awareness of USPS initiatives, and the opportunity to provide direct input on existing or proposed USPS programs.

NAPS annual meetings follows similar formats, but may have a unique focus depending on the time of year.
